26003, 26010 and 26014 arrive at Toton, to have panelling and radiator
elements removed before forwarding to Leicester. However, after some poking
about, no asbestos seemed to be there...

Thursday 12/12/89
1455 Aberdeen to King's Cross; from Thornton Junction to Waverley after
the HST blew up. The train was caped at Waverley.
Tuesday 20/02/90
0702 1A49 Plymouth to Aberdeen; from Inverkeithing to Dundee. 47559 was
on the train, but burst at Inverkeithing. The train was caped at Dundee,
probably owing to the fact that it was a mere 247 minutes late by that
point, having earlier been routed via the S&C!
Thursday 02/08/90
1712 2Y74 Dundee to Montrose; 1808 2Y46 Montrose to Perth. The first time
a 26 had dropped for 7 weeks!
Friday 03/08/90
1712 2A74 Dundee to Montrose; 1808 2Y74 Montrose to Perth.
Wednesday 19/09/90
0640 1B12 Inverness to Waverley; from Kirkcaldy to Waverley after 47541
collapsed.
Wednesday 10/10/90
1748 1B17 Carstairs to Waverley.
Sunday 02/12/90
26010+26028
1055 1V60 Glasgow Central to Plymouth; Glasgow Central to Carlisle via
the Sou'West. 47518 burst at Central, and was sent to Corkerhill. 26024
and 26028 were allocated at 1130, but it was 26010 and 26028 which appeared!
There was a multi fault, so the load 9 train was driven in tandem non-stop
to Carlisle, departing Central at 1141 and arriving Carlisle at 1356.
They returned light to Polmadie. This was 26010's final passenger working;
fitting in a way as it spent so much time working out of Carlisle in the
60s (coastal branches such as Silloth and on the Waverley route).
Monday 30/09/91
26010, 26014, 26024, 26032 and 26042 were transferred from DCHA to DCHB.
Owing to overspend on East Coast engineering, there were to be few east
Coast turns for these engines over the coming months (in November, 26010
did not leave the old DMU shed at Eastfield for over three weeks). Only
some extensive work around Motherwell saw the locos working at all regularly.
Thursday 11/06/92
26010+26037 had a rare weekday outing when called upon to take the 0307
6D35 Grangemouth Oil terminal to Hawkshead tanks, owing to T shortage.
Both locos returned light. 26037 then worked ballast trip AN05; 26010
ran to Perth to work trip AL04 to Aberdeen, the first weekend-only 26
to reach the Granite City.
Friday
24/07/92
26010 1M97 2250 Glasgow to Birmingham postal; Polmadie signal M170 to
Carstairs. 86414 failed and 010 was the only engine in the area, as it
was at Rutherglen PWD with the OT52 trip. 010 was attached, departing
the signal at 2334 and reaching Carstairs at 0020. 86216 ran light from
Glasgow Central and took over.
