What
is 6LDA?
Our past, our present
and our future...
Formed in 1991
The 6LDA group was formed in 1991 with the aim of preserving a Class
26. The group bought two Class 26 locomotives, 26004 and 26024, and agreement
was reached with the Scottish Railway Preservation Society for our locos
to be based at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway, where they've been based
since November 1994.
In preservation
Extensive work by a small group of vounteers saw 26004 enter regular
service in 1995; followed by 26024 in 2001.
While the two engines are now safely preserved, the story doesn't end
there. £20 shares are available to help fund their future and secure
the future of two examples of one of the pioneer classes of British Railways'
diesel fleet.
